The organisation of football in Myanmar is structured around a hierarchical league system, allowing clubs to ascend or descend based on their performances. This structure is divided into several tiers, ranging from professional football to amateur football.
At the pinnacle of the hierarchy is the Myanmar National League, which is the highest level of football in Myanmar. It comprises 12 professional clubs that compete for the title of Myanmar Champion. The bottom two clubs in the standings at the end of the season are relegated to the Myanmar National League 2, which also includes 12 clubs.
