Organisation of Football in Oman

The organisation of football in Oman is structured around a hierarchical league system, allowing clubs to ascend or descend based on their performances. This system is divided into several tiers, ranging from professional football to amateur football.

At the top of the hierarchy is the Oman Professional League, which is the highest level of Omani football. It comprises 14 professional clubs vying for the title of Oman's champion. The poorly ranked clubs at the end of the season are relegated to the Oman First Division League, which also includes a number of clubs. The top clubs from the First Division are promoted to the Professional League, while the less successful ones may be relegated to the Oman Second Division League.

The Oman Second Division League, the third tier of Omani football, hosts semi-professional and amateur clubs. The best teams are promoted to the First Division, and the less successful ones may be relegated to a lower level.

Beyond the Second Division, the system continues with regional and local divisions, highlighting the depth and richness of Omani football at all levels of competition.
