Organisation of Football in Namibia

The organisation of football in Namibia is structured across several levels, allowing clubs to ascend or descend based on their performance. This structure spans from professional football to amateur football.

At the pinnacle of the hierarchy is the Namibia Premier League, which represents the highest level of Namibian football. It brings together the country's top clubs who compete for the title of Namibian champions. Clubs that finish poorly at the end of the season may face relegation to the lower level, the First Division.

The First Division is the second tier of Namibian football. It is divided into three geographical zones: North, Central-South, and Coast. High-performing clubs in this division may earn promotion to the Namibia Premier League, while poorly performing clubs may face relegation to a lower level.

Beneath the First Division, there are several regional and local leagues that constitute the lower levels of Namibian football. These leagues provide amateur and semi-professional clubs with the opportunity to compete and progress within the Namibian league system.

In addition to these leagues, there are also national cup competitions, such as the Namibia Cup, which are open to all clubs in the country, regardless of their level in the league system.
