The organisation of football in Madagascar is structured according to a hierarchical league system, allowing clubs to ascend or face relegations based on their performances. This structure is divided into several levels, ranging from professional football to amateur football.

It brings together the best clubs in the country who compete for the title of Madagascar champion. The least performing teams at the end of the season are relegated to the lower level, the Ligue 2.
The Ligue 2 is the second tier of football in Madagascar. It includes clubs that aspire to reach the THB Champions League. The best teams of the season are promoted to the THB Champions League, while the least performing ones are relegated to the lower level.
