Organisation of Football in Kazakhstan

The organisation of football in Kazakhstan is structured according to a hierarchical league system, allowing clubs to ascend or descend based on their performances. This structure is divided into several levels, ranging from professional football to amateur football.

At the top of the hierarchy is the Kazakhstan Premier League, which is the highest level of Kazakh football. It comprises 12 professional clubs that compete for the title of Kazakhstan champion. The bottom two clubs in the ranking at the end of the season are relegated to the First Division, which also includes a number of clubs. The top two from the First Division are promoted to the Premier League.

The First Division, the second level of Kazakh football, hosts semi-professional and amateur clubs. The best teams are promoted to the Premier League, while the less successful ones can be relegated to a lower level.

Below the First Division, the league system continues with regional and local divisions, highlighting the depth and richness of Kazakh football at all levels of competition.
